Five days visiting international schools in Moscow left TIC Director Andrew Wigford full of admiration - for the schools and the city.

"It was an amazing trip," said Andrew, who visited in September '08. "I went with a strong misconception about what the city would be like....but was very pleasantly surprised to discover a very vibrant and exciting city that was quite different to some stereotypes."

Andrew visited two schools: The Anglo American school of Moscow and the International School of Moscow.

"The two schools were very different but both had so much to offer," Andrew said. "The Anglo American school has incredible facilities and a very diverse staff and student population. It is also really good at supporting its teachers' professional development. It trains a lot of IB teachers and has a very professional approach.

"The International School of Moscow is a new school entering its second year and offers teachers the fantastic opportunity to be part of something new and very exciting. It has a small staff that work together well as team and make the most of their facility and ideal surroundings (located in the middle of an Olympic park)."

We would recommend both schools - and if you go to Moscow, make sure you book a trip around the Kremlin for a memorable experience!
