In October 2008 TIC representatives visited international school in Doha, Qatar and in Dubai - two of the biggest cities in the region.
Doha has over 30 international schools with many more planned and has the complete backing of the Supreme Council for Education in Qatar. Doha as a city rivals Dubai as a hub for international education and lively ex-pat social scene.
Dubai has over 100 international schools and is always in demand by teachers looking for adventure and sunshine.
TIC representatives used their time to talk to recruiters about their coming needs and the type of teachers they like to employ.
They also spent time viewing teacher accommodation and reviewing salary packages and contracts.
