The Experts in International School recruitment

Teaching in Australia, New Zealand and USA

The vast majority of international schools are located in countries where an English-medium education is not available. This is the reason why many schools were originally established: to provide an education in English.

In places such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA there are, therefore, very few international schools. If you want to work in one of these countries then you will normally have to work in the state- or private-school sector.

To work as a teacher in Australia and New Zealand you need to be registered by the state authorities. The process of registration can take around four months and you have to do this yourself.

In New Zealand you have to register with the NZ Teachers Council: www.teacherscouncil.govt.nz (opens in new window)

For Australia follow this link for more information: www.education.gov.au (opens in new window)

Once you have been through this process we can then put you in touch with one of our partner recruitment organisations in NZ and Australia.

We have good connections to British international schools in the US. To work in these schools you can apply through us but these are limited places in high demand. You can also apply to teach in private or state schools in many different parts of the USA. We can recommend www.vifprogram.com for more information.
